MUSICAL COLLECTION OF KEYS

I love music very much and consider it the most honest, emotional, amazing, magical and unique form of art. Despite the fact that I have chosen painting as my life's work, the musician lives in me, although I no longer do it professionally. Music paints my life in bright colors and pulls me out of the most unpleasant situations by the ears. The delight from performing and listening to some works cannot be expressed in words! And so, at one of the concerts, while singing, it dawned on me that I wanted to try to express my feelings from this beautiful music on canvas. This is how one or two works appeared, written to my favorite musical works. Now the series "My musical collection of keys" has 16 abstract paintings. The whole series turned out to be as bright and abstract as the feelings from the musical works to which these works were written. Each painting has its own story of creation (see links under the photos of the paintings). 3 of them took 1st and 2nd places at Artweek 2016 and Artweek 2017, which took place at Artplay. 7 of them went to Hong Kong in 2017 for the Asian Contemporary Art exhibition and recently returned to their home. I accompany each painting not only with the story of creation, but also with a QR code, by which YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE PAINTING.

"TREASURES OF THE DEPTHS" (dedicated to my mother)
My mother gave me a huge baggage of beauty, which was transformed into a million shades of emotions and colors.
This picture is about DEPTH. My mother is an artist, icon painter, master of folk costume and therefore adores everything folklore. My mother collected beautiful antiquities and knowledge in ethnographic expeditions, from which comes the wild energy of the DEPTHS of the past. Our house in Svetlitsy is full of this beauty. Note that the picture is a bit reminiscent of a Russian scarf.
My mother believes in life after death and never despairs. Her life is shrouded in magical stories. We have been through a lot together. Even when I was very scared and very sad as a little girl, she always found words, explained everything by magic and I began to believe, and then the sadness retreated. IN THE DEPTHS of my mother's closet were ornaments that I would secretly take and examine for hours while she was away.
The painting "Treasures of the Depths" is about the magic that is hidden in the depths of all things. In this painting are TREASURES that I have collected throughout my life: favorite fairy tales that my mother told me as a child, TREASURES seen IN THE DEPTHS of PEOPLE I met and, of course, the beautiful music to which this painting is written - Arabesque No. 1 by Claude Debussy (E-dur). "Smoldering Infinity".
I always wanted to depict the feeling of freedom during a smoke break. When I go out to smoke, especially with someone, life freezes for these 10 minutes. We go beyond its boundaries. It is so cool to stretch out time with cigarettes! Conversation topics instantly go beyond the usual boundaries, sometimes unexpected revelations begin. We go into nicotine infinity, which smolders along with the cigarette, and along with it - our time...

It is inspired by the song "Cigarettes" by Zemfira.

This painting was written in 2017 and is one of the series "Musical collection of tonalities" https://www.korchagina-art.com/muzykalnaya-kollekciya... Only there is no music in it. When I look at it, I have a poem in my head, which I now consider one of my favorites:
GIRAFFE
Today, I see, your look is especially sad
And your hands are especially thin, hugging your knees.
Listen: far, far away, on Lake Chad
An exquisite giraffe wanders.
Graceful harmony and bliss are given to him,
And his skin is decorated with a magical pattern,
Which only the moon dares to equal,
Crushing and swaying on the moisture of wide lakes.
In the distance it is like the colorful sails of a ship,
And its run is smooth, like a joyful bird's flight.
I know that the earth sees many wonderful things,
When at sunset it hides in a marble grotto.
I know the funny tales of mysterious lands
About a black maiden, about the passion of a young leader,
But you have been breathing in the heavy fog for too long,
You don't want to believe in anything except rain.
And how can I tell you about a tropical garden,
About slender palm trees, about the smell of unimaginable herbs.
