What is January, 1st for you? My January, 1st is a complete sheet of white … start of something new with echoes of diffusing sparkles of hope and yesterday’s celebration. When we want to believe that everything, we wish will come true. The clearest feeling of that dwells right in the New Year’s Eve fuss and excitement. And then there comes 01.01, calm, snowy and foggy… Everything seems to be the same, but it’s different! As if it all has started fresh. The glares of the party are strumming in my head and I’m still tipsy a bit, kids are unwrapping the gifts while I am staring at floating snowflakes… Can you recollect those perfectly shaped glares from snowflakes on your eyelashes when you look at a lantern?.. These are them, that inspired me for this painting.
